Ex Libris Barco Velero seal.
The Egyptians were the first builders of sailing ships of which we have records. They were making them at least five thousand years ago for sailing on the Nile and later on the Mediterranean Sea. The sailing ships were the first means of transport over long distances of water (rivers, lakes, seas). Currently they are used for recreational, sporting or educational purposes. However, in some areas of the Indian Ocean they are still used with a commercial sense.
Sailboats also had a military use, especially in nations with a strong transoceanic colonial development (England, Spain, the Netherlands, France), until the 19th century. There are many types but all have certain basic things in common. All sailboats have a helmet protected by the fin, scaffolding, at least one mast to support the sails and a orza to avoid twisting and compensate for the lateral force of the wind. Sailboats were gradually replaced throughout the 19th century by steam-powered vessel.
Ex libris It is a Latin term that literally means "from among the books of," that is, a book originating from among the books in a public or private library. The Ex Libris book is a property mark that is usually placed on the back of the cover or the lid of a book. It contains the name of the owner of the copy or the library owner.
The design is laser-engraved onto high-quality rubber, which ensures high-definition detail on our stamp. The relief of approximately 1 mm guarantees clean and clear impressions. We do not use the transparent polymer resins commonly employed by other manufacturers for this purpose.
