Ex Libris Elephants

Elephants Ex Libris Stamp.

Elephants are the largest land animals in existence today. The gestation period is twenty-two months, the longest of any land animal. Birth weight is usually 118 kg. They typically live for between fifty and seventy years, but historical records document maximum ages of eighty-two years. The largest elephant ever hunted, as far as records show, weighed around 11,000 kg (Angola, 1956), standing 3.96 metres tall at the withers, one metre taller than the average African elephant.⁵ The smallest elephant, about the size of a calf or a large pig, is a prehistoric species that once lived on the island of Crete, Elephas creticus, during the Pleistocene.

Ex libris It is a Latin phrase which literally means ‘from the books of’, that is to say, a book taken from the collection of a public or private library. The ‘Elefantes’ ex-libris is a mark of ownership that is usually placed on the inside front or back cover of a book. It bears the name of the owner of the volume or the library to which it belongs.

The design is laser-engraved onto high-quality rubber, which ensures high-definition detail on our stamp. The relief of approximately 1 mm guarantees clean and clear impressions. We do not use the transparent polymer resins commonly employed by other manufacturers for this purpose.
