Don Quixote Ex Libris

Ex Libris Don Quijote seal.

Don Quixote of La Mancha is a novel written by the Spaniard Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. The first part was published under the title *The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha* in early 1605; it is the most outstanding work in Spanish literature and one of the most important in world literature, as well as being the most widely read book after the Bible. In 1615, its sequel was published under the title *The Second Part of the Ingenious Knight Don Quixote of La Mancha*. The 1605 edition of *Don Quixote* was published in four parts; however, when the 1615 edition appeared as the Second Part of the work, the division into four sections of the volume published ten years earlier by Cervantes was effectively superseded.

Ex libris It is a Latin phrase which literally means ‘from the books of’, that is to say, a book taken from the collection of a public or private library. The ‘Ex Libris Don Quixote and Sancho Panza’ is a mark of ownership that is usually placed on the back of a book’s cover. It bears the name of the owner of the copy or the library to which it belongs.

The design is laser-engraved onto high-quality rubber, which ensures high-definition detail on our stamp. The relief of approximately 1 mm guarantees clean and clear impressions. We do not use the transparent polymer resins commonly employed by other manufacturers for this purpose.
