Ex Libris Giraffe

Ex Libris Giraffe stamp.

The giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis) is a species of artiodactyl mammal, belonging to the Giraffidae family and native to Africa. It is the tallest of all existing land animal species, as it can reach a height of 5.8 m and weigh between 750 and 1,600 kg. They are uniquely adapted to reach vegetation that is inaccessible to other herbivores. Their unusually elastic blood vessels and specially adapted valves help to compensate for the sudden build-up of blood (clearly to prevent fainting) when giraffes raise, lower or swing their heads rapidly.

Ex libris It is a Latin phrase which literally means ‘from the books of’, that is to say, a book taken from the collection of a public or private library. The giraffe Ex Libris is a mark of ownership that is usually placed on the back of a book’s cover. It bears the name of the owner of the copy or of the library that owns it.

The design is laser-engraved onto high-quality rubber, which ensures high-definition detail on our stamp. The relief of approximately 1 mm guarantees clean and clear impressions. We do not use the transparent polymer resins commonly employed by other manufacturers for this purpose.
